Marathi
Marathi is an Indo-Aryan language spoken predominantly by around 83 million Marathi people of Maharashtra, India. It is the official language and co-official language in the Maharashtra and Goa states of Western India. We at Bhasha Geeks envision to enable our students to understand this language in a way that interpretation and expressing in Marathi becomes no barrier, but a boon.

Course Level's

Listening
To enhance language learning ability, listening is the first step for creating a strong foundation for students. Introduction to language will be done by telling fun filled and value-based stories.

Speaking
Students will be encouraged to participate in small group conversations. Fun filled and creative activities will be designed for developing speaking skills. Asking questions that requires more than 'Yes' or 'No' answers will be main focus area for this skill. For example instead of asking "Did you have a good day?" ask them, "Tell me about the best part of your day?" continue asking "Who did you play with today?", "Who did you sit with at lunch?"...etc. Active participation from parents would be very helpful at this level.

Reading
Show and Tell activities and other games will be conducted to start a base for reading skills.

Writing
Customized Activity sheets will be provided to students to learn this skill in more joyful way.

Listening
Listening is most crucial part of Level 1 learning. Students listing skills will developed at this level. Most commonly used conversational based scenarios will be taught and discussed in class.

Speaking
Speaking skills will be built on listening skills. Approach will be based on interactive conversation with realistic scenarios used as an example. Students will be able to carry out very basic level conversations e.g. about myself, my school, asking for permission etc. They can answer some basic questions with reasonable accuracy.

Reading
Introduction to certain letters, symbols and characters. Students should be able to identify commonly used small words.

Writing
Students will be able to copy/write certain vowels/consonants. Writing may or not be accurate from this level as purpose is to just introduce alphabet/character writing.

Listening
Students will be able to understand basic speech/questions/orders in different personal/social situations. Students will be able to leverage context information for better understanding.

Speaking
Students will be able to develop more vocabulary which will help them to fulfill basic speaking needs. They will be able to communicate day to day chores, buying / shopping various things, speaking with a family member in reasonable accuracy.

Reading
Students will be able to understand basic words and related terms/phrases as applicable. Use letter-sound associations, word parts, and context to identify new words. Orally read with reasonable fluency.

Writing
Students will be able to write simple words/sentences with reasonable accuracy. They may able to convey the messages by writing. However, it may have some spelling/grammar errors.

Listening
Students will be able to understand short texts/conversations/stories. Students will be able to understand main points of most conversations.

Speaking
Students will be able to speak confidently in informal discussions on familiar topics. They will also develop sufficient vocabulary to speak with some extra words rather than adapt words. They will also be able to speak in present/past/future grammar context.

Reading
Students will be able to read easily small topics and simple texts. Based on individual knowledge/interest they may be able to convey read topics.

Writing
Students will be able to write the experiences based on the achieved level of comprehension which may be of a paragraph length. Writing skill will also correspond to achieved grammar, language knowledge, vocabulary.

Listening
Students will be able to comprehend conventional text. They may not be able to understand all the aspects of complex texts. They may able understand main ideas and express them using their thoughts.

Speaking
Students will be able to speak with native speakers with ease and confidence. Students at this level may demonstrate reasonable level of language fluency.

Reading
Students will be able to read and understand conventional materials. They will be able to comprehend longer topics based on the knowledge level / interest. In some cases, they can read/derive information from familiar/unfamiliar/complex topics from wide ranging materials.

Writing
Students will be able to write on various topics with meticulous observations. They will be able to convey their ideas in writing with native speakers using wide vocabulary and grammatical structures.

Listening
Students will be able to understand wide range of speech for familiar or new topics. Language understanding will not be just limited to only listener's knowledge on any subject, but also comes from a command of the language to interpret more complex structures. Cultural aspects and reference will be included.

Speaking
Students will be able to communicate fluently and start formal or informal conversation with others. Will be able to express their thoughts, ideas, opinions, and emotions independently. They will be able to participate in any group discussions and debates with ease and accuracy.

Reading
Students will be able to understand texts from different categories focusing on different areas of subject. Comprehensions will not be just limited to the known subjects but will also have wide knowledge base and complex structure.

Writing
Students will be able to put their thoughts, opinions on any subject easily for simple or complex situations. Their vocabulary would have wide range of selection and they should be able to express the same thought in multiple ways. They will have good command over grammar.

Listening
By this level student would be able to interpret a language to extend where they can understand the context clearly. Could easily understand the language used in plays, movies, jokes and songs...etc.

Speaking
Students will have very good command over language by now and they will be communicating in an appropriate manner. They will be very comfortable to use this language as good as their primary language by this level.

Reading
Student will be able to understand wide range of text on different subjects of literature and they will be able to read and enjoy different kinds on fictional and non-fictional books. Sense of understanding and interpreting language will be very high at his level.

Writing
Written skills will be highly developed at this level. Student can participate in various writing activities at this level such as journal or report writings…etc. Few creative brains can start writing a book/novel/poem on any topic of their interest by this level.
